Connect by Music is committed to provide psychosocial support to refugees through music education and music therapy. We aim to improve their well-being and create connection within themselves and with society. We are driven by a fierce will to keep learning, growing and building capacity in order to best serve our beneficiaries.
Connect by Music is an organization that provides music schools for children and adolescents in Greek refugee camps. The Connect by Music program is run by professional teachers and music therapists, supported by psychologists. Our main objective is to provide psycho-social support and emotional relief through music education and music therapy.
Making music brings joy and connection; it has a therapeutic effect. It can serve as a language, where words fail. By providing students with an instrument for themselves, they grow even more as a musician and as a person. Besides, our students get to play in concerts. Showing their skills as one group, brings empowerment, strengthens relationships and a big sense of pride and self-esteem.
In the Camp to Stage project, Connect by Music encourages students to connect outside of the camp. By providing opportunities where children and young adults can perform, Connect by Music fosters their strength and confidence in building new relationships. Where schools in Greece are forced to pay attention to integration and acceptance of children with a refugee background among Greek students, Connect by Music responds to this with their Camp to Stage performances at Greek schools.
