• We purchase and deliver the necessary materials, like prefab school rooms, furniture and musical instruments.
• We only involve professional music teachers from the immediate surrounding area. Wherever possible, we also recruit music teachers from among the refugees themselves.
• We provide music teachers with the necessary direction and support.
  Give support by music therapists.
• We organize youth concerts at the reception center.
• Through Messenger offer lessons to students who have moved to another location.

Why?

• We facilitate a safe space where everyone can feel at ease. The decor and a feel of the rooms are an important factor in making this a positive environment.
• The materials and instruments we bring in are of good quality; this is an essential component if we want to ensure that the music program is as beneficial to the students’ recovery process as possible.
• We want to create a stable foundation, and as such want to ensure there is a steady teacher base. The teacher-student relationship is a special bond, and the children in this school will often be traumatized and have issues with attachment due to their history with war. A long-term relationship with their teacher can help create the safe and structured environment that is so essential to recovery.
• The teachers are the heart of our organisation. They are the ones that pour their care and attention into the refugee camp, day by day. Music therapists, among others, can offer their expertise to give our staff the necessary support.
• As soon as the children achieve some basic music performance level, teachers can organise small concerts for them to show off their skills. This can motivate them and boost their self-esteem.
